“I’m one of those guys who’s fairly handy with most maintenance and repairs around the house, but HVAC is one area that I’ve never messed with. When my furnace started acting up, I googled the problem and came up with all sorts of advice. After looking for a while, I realized something important. THERE ARE REAL CONSEQUENCES to doing this wrong. Gas leaks don’t mess around. I decided to call Arctic Mechanical. They came out right away, repaired something minor, didn’t try to upsell me, and taught me some things I didn’t know. I appreciated that so much that I signed up for their annual maintenance plan. I feel good that I’m letting the pros handle this part of my home maintenance. Nice work, Arctic Mechanical.”

“Ryan and Lonnie helped me with a gas line and venting for a garage furnace I installed/hung myself. When the furnace started right away but had issues functioning properly, Ryan and Lonnie went above and beyond to help make sure we got it operating properly. I was grateful and impressed by how they went the extra mile for me – I didn’t buy the furnace from them and they could have easily walked when the gas line and venting were done (as technically that’s all I hired them to do). “Our furnace went out on a Sunday, Ryan was able to check it the same day. He diagnosed the problem but couldnt get parts until Monday but before he left he got the furnace working. The furnace was able to stay working until he came back Monday to replace the parts that were needed. Even though he came out on the weekend he only charged regular rates because he wasnt able to install the parts until the next day.”

“The compressor on my HVAC system stopped working on the hottest day of the year so far. I called around to several companies and eventually found Arctic. They were able to get someone to my house within 2-days when everyone else was a week or more out. Upon arrival Chris, my technician, was incredibly polite, considerate and open with the constraints they were working under with regards to parts and available units if replacement was going to be needed. Expectations were set.
Chris investigated the issues we were having and found the root cause promptly and had my system back up and running in short order at minimal cost. At any time he could have tried to upsell me on a new unit but at no time did I feel pressured to commit to upgraded repairs that weren’t really necessary. I pleasantly surprised at the considerate and honest level of service I received at minimal cost for the urgent response time. Arctic has earned my business long term!”

“Our 22 year old Carrier AC stopped cooling in June 2020. After doing extensive research into repair costs, brands, installation methods (from DIY instructions and manuals), available rebates and reading a number of blogs on key topics I was ready to select the brands that would provide reliable operation for years to come. While doing research I came across Day and Night, which is owned by United Technologies – one of their best-known brands is Carrier. Day and Night came highly recommended by independent HVAC installers (those that install and service all systems and don't only stick with one or two brands) so it was added to the list. Arctic Mechanical is the top installer for D&N in our area. Next, I invited seven different installers on site to quote various replacement systems. I quizzed every installer with a slew of questions specific to the brand HVAC that they sell. I then requested they quote a replacement system in the basic, medium and high efficiency categories (due to varying efficiency-based rebates from our utility providers). Most of the installers, did not walk around the house – they simply wrote down what we had and quoted the same capacity systems. From what I read, every replacement installation should be approached with a manual J calculation to verify that the unit is sized right. So companies that don’t perform the computation were disqualified immediately from our list or potential vendors. Ryan C arrived and differentiated himself from the other installers right away: he requested a quick look at all the rooms in the house before going to see the furnace unit in the basement. After we arrived at the furnace he told me that he thinks our system is over sized for the house and we probably should get a smaller unit this time around (he mentioned that they always do a manual j calculation to confirm). We had a very nice discussion on how units are sized – which aligned well with what I read online during my research stage. He also caught all the issues that the other installers identified and found a couple more. Ryan is thorough, honest and knowledgeable. When providing the three quotes, he sent a manual J calculation confirming that the system is over sized – only him and one other installer performed the calculation and caught the discrepancy. The quotes came in very competitive on labor costs and I was able to install a higher efficiency furnace/AC at the cost of a medium efficiency Lennox unit (our other option based on the manual J elimination of rest of vendors). It was actually cheaper to install the higher efficiency D&N system than the lowest cost one due to how the efficiency-based rebates stacked. Ryan and Jesse installed the system over a couple of days. They were on time, wore masks, covered the carpets with cloths to avoid getting them dirty and left the area clean when they were done at the end of each day. Our house now feels much more comfortable with the correctly sized system since it runs a little longer and provides sufficient cooling/heating to the rooms furthest away from the furnace unit. Ryan's recommendation to keep the fan running 24/7 ensures that all rooms have very similar temperatures even when the furnace/AC are not actively heating/cooling. Our cooling costs went down and it appears that our heating costs are lower this year as well. Sarah submitted all the rebates in a timely manner and got us all the rebates available. She was also instrumental in answering a slew of questions about the quote/rebate process and handled all the scheduling. Arctic Mechanical truly came out on top when compared to some of the larger players in our area. Their service, quality and commitment to doing things the right way made them the clear choice for our heating and cooling needs for years to come.”

“Our air conditioner was old (1978) and hadn’t worked at all well this summer. Finally on July 1, it died completely, during a long hot spell. “Ryan is an absolute life-saver. During one of the hottest stretches in recent memory, our air conditioner stopped working and our house thermostat read nearly 90 degrees. It was miserable.

“Arctic Mechanical is fast and reliable! The A/C at one of rental unit was not working and just blowing warm air. During the busiest summer season they were able to squeeze sometimes to look into our A/C within a day. They were honest and told us that the problem was with the bad compressor. Since it is an old unit and getting close to its age replacing an outdated compressor would cost as much as replacing a new A/C unit. From sale to technician they were quick in responding and had new AC unit installed next day. I couldn't be happier with our new A/C unit. Very respectful of this company. Would highly recommend!”

“I have worked with Ryan in the past installing a furnace at one residence and air conditioner at another and had nothing but great things to say about his professionalism, customer service and willingness to get the job done on my schedule. After moving into a new build in New Brighton just 3 years ago I assumed it would be awhile before Ryan and I crossed paths again. “Just wanted to reach out to say thanks to Ryan and team for the furnace install earlier this year. Been meaning to do this for a while and just didn’t get it done. Since the install was done in May/June, didn’t have need to run the furnace much until the weather cooled down. I’m so happy with the new unit. It’s WAY quieter than the old one (let’s just say that it doesn’t feel like the jets are on the runway when it fires up…) and the whole house feels warmer. When I put my foot over one of the vents on the second floor, it’s actually warm! That hasn’t happened in a while. The new thermostat is easy to program as well.
Job well done. Wish we’d done it sooner, – but comforting to know we have a much more efficient unit in place heading into a winter where heating costs may be a bit unreasonable.

“I highly recommend Arctic Mechanical for furnace repair and furnace maintenance. My furnace would not turn on, so I tried to find furnace repair near me. Although they were not close, I was surprised how quickly the repairman arrived and the price was very reasonable. What amazed me the most is how quickly he diagnosed the problem. The furnace code said the problem was one thing, but the repairman quickly realized that the code was incorrect and the real faulty part was the part that diagnosed the problem. Most repairmen would logically replace the part the furnace says is faulty, but he correctly replaced the right part and it works perfectly!”
